Downtown Oakville

We have been the agency of record for Downtown Oakville for several years now, handling their marketing needs as the Downtown continues to evolve and go through a bit of a renaissance. Downtown Oakville has multiple campaigns that run throughout the year, and with the help of their talented marketing team we have had the pleasure of creating material for them that we are very proud of.

The challenge for Downtown Oakville is two part; meeting the needs of their diverse membership, and effectively delivering their message to the general public. On the membership side, it’s a varied group of 400+ businesses that consist of retailers, restaurants and service providers – all with different needs and expectations. For the general public, the catchment area is Oakville, Burlington, and the GTA.

Retail as we know it has been going through a major transition, and we’ve witnessed it first-hand in Downtown Oakville. With e-commerce and ‘big box’ stores growing stronger and stronger, small independent businesses have a number of challenges to face. Through a mix of advertising vehicles we have helped position Downtown Oakville as a destination – the sum of many parts – where it’s a different type of shopping/dining/service experience.


As an example, Downtown Oakville produces a quarterly guide that gets delivered to 65,000 homes, locally. We design the magazine cover to cover, shoot product photography, and we print & distribute it through Canada Post.

As it is for many retailers, Christmas is a big time of year for Downtown Oakville. Many of their hallmark events coincide with this season, and we create a custom ad campaign to help deliver the message. This includes tagline, photography, design and digital content. Last year we came up with the Instagram Advent Calendar, where each day visitors could swipe and enter to win.
